Target Audience Research #1

     My magazine's target audience is roughly ages 16 to 55. I will target mainly males, but include some female sports and female athletes. The magazine will be available to everyone, and be handed out at schools around the area. It will be a fairly easy to read magazine, and will include some longer articles.

     Sports Illustrated is the first magazine I researched, because it compares to my magazine very well. We share almost the exact same target audience, and cover similar stories, but obviously mine are not as global. They market their product by having various social media accounts on many platforms such as Instagram, Snapchat, and Twitter. They also have commercials that they plug on stations such as ESPN, and have the anchors on shows such as Sportscenter advertise it as well. They have famous athletes and personnel on the show advertising their product, to try and persuade more people to subscribe to their monthly plan. So, various media methods were used such as print, tv, radio, and digital. I will incorporate these methods into my magazine, and try to get people from around the area to advertise it as well. I could also potentially include a subscription service similar to Sports Illustrated.

They also will have writers for the magazine appear on the show SportsCenter, as shown above to advertise their work.
