Cover Design Template

Over the past few days i have been working on my cover template for my Magazine. The background at the moment is black, but I am hosting a photo shoot for my subject August Drews later this week, and I will update it soon. The picture will go in the background to create a "Sports Illustrated" type of cover. The articles I will be including are about High School Sports around the area, such as Venice winning the football state championship, and Coach Ryals being dismissed from the football program at SHS. The '#' signs are there to indicate a page number going in it's place.

Throughout the article, I plan to change a few pictures, and define my page numbers more with some branding.

Conventions/Social Groups

How does your product challenge conventions of your genre?           The magazines I researched were mainly Sports Illustrated issues, and I took many ideas and incorporated them into my magazine. I tried to replicate the exact title font, and took ideas such as the page numbers being included on the title. I also added my own twist to the generic Sports Illustrated issues. How does it represent social groups or issues?      The social groups my issue are mainly targeting are High Schoolers and just people in the area that may be interested. I plan to hand the magazine out at school and hopefully go to some local businesses to see if they will have my magazine at their store.
